I MESSED UP A FEW VIDEOS BECAUSE OF THIS. Customer Rating: Summary: Good for recording< not so for pictures Comment: This is a great camera for videos, it's easy to operate & it's light & small. I thought having the still photo option would be awesome, I would only have to carry 1 camera for every thing, but not so. I have taken several hundred photos with it & most are not good quality...the only ones that are good are in perfect lighting conditions. Again---great video ability, poor photos Customer Rating: Summary: SUB-STANDARD DESIGN FLAWS Comment: I'm not trying to be harsh on ony. They still make the worlds best TV's. They still make great camcorders. Just not this one. Essential items in any camcorder are basic. A remote for self-video. A viewfinder to shoot movies when sunlight is too bright for its viewfinder. Finally, the ability to shoot at night (NIGHTSHOT). The Sony designers chose to leave all three items out. You won't find any of these common features on the SR87. That being said, it's just not a suggested model and I suspect will be discounted quickly or discontinued. The Canon is by far a better camcorder. More Reviews
