Summary: Good quick start...
Comment: I have had the other Pinnacle versions and have always enjoyed working with them. They did have a
habit of crashing at times. So far I haven't had any problems with this version. It's a great way
to get up and running if you're new to video editing. Hooked up my new Canon FS10 and downloaded
without a problem. Overall, I am please with this purchase. Look forward to working in HD.

Summary: Garbage
Comment: I installed a trial version of this software to try making some home videos. The trial is available
for 15 days, so I figured I can make at least one movie, and if I don't like the program, nothing
lost.

But what Pinnacle does not mention anywhere is how they trick you into installing
the program and spending countless hours editing the video, but when it comes time to try to make a
movie with the trial version of the software, the only option you get is a low quality 640x480 video
that is pixelated. There is no option to save it in any higher resolution.

Stay away
from this piece of software and Pinnacle's baiting tactics!!!

Summary: WHY WOULD YOU BUY TONS OF PROBLEMS
Comment: I started with Pinnacle 8 Studio, which had a terrible memory management, such as: program is ending
abrupt, music is gone or titles.... all because of software problems. Because I needed something to
make videos, I later bought version 10, thinking that Pinnacle has fixed the memory problem in the
meantime. Not at all, actually I could not find out why I paid [...] bucks for this crap. Because of
version 10, I needed to fix my computer twice and than went back to version 8. OK here is the thing,
if you have a video is probably 2 or 3 minutes, it might work. I needed the video with titles,
photos with transition and music for about 10 to 12 minutes. Just forget it, don't even consider to
look at it.
Pinnacle has good ideas and has all the features you need, that's why you are
enthusiastic, but still, the program is technically absolutely incapable. It's also not possible to
burn a DVD in high quality without any mistakes or even have a break up while burning. On top,
Pinnacle software screwed up my computer twice. If you can't fix your computer by yourself, Pinnacle
is the sudden death of your PC. Hands off folks, look elsewhere.

Summary: Easy to use, fun to play with
Comment: I've always liked Pinnacle's studio suites. I find them very intuitive and powerful. Until
upgrading to version 14, I used 9. The only beef I had with 9 was that it would crash from time to
time. I haven't had 14 crash on me yet, but it appears from other reviews that some people have had
that happen to them. Still, I won't hold that too harshly against it since 1) it hasn't happened to
me and 2) I've had other video editing software solutions crash on me too, including Premier Pro and
After Effects as well as other, less expensive programs.

This set is nice because it
comes with extra effects and a chroma-key green screen... but don't get the "ultimate" version just
for the green screen. It is only 5 feet by 6 feet which is pretty limiting as far as what you can
do with it... pretty much just stand there and talk or do something else that doesn't require any
motion. Still, it's a nice little freebie and I'm happy to have it.

Installation was a
breeze and didn't take very long. As soon as it was done, a little tutorial popped up and walked me
through how to use the product. As I said before, it's pretty intuitive already, but the tutorial
would be very nice for those new to the video-editing game. The box also contains a (wait for
it...) manual! I know, right? I was starting to think that software was always going to be shipped
out in a big, mostly empty box and if you wanted to know how to use it, you would have to buy
supplemental books and training materials and I had better just get used to it. But this is like
the good old days... "Here's the software and here's how to use it." Why did we shift away from
this model?

Once you get into the program, there are all sorts of little extras like
transitions and (what would you call it?) "multi-frame displays"? I think Pinnacle refers to it as
a pre-built montage. It allows you to show multiple photos and or videos on the screen at once for
a nice effect. Anyway, whatever you call it, it's just another easy way to add some visual interest
to your project.

Version 14 runs on Windows 7, Vista, and XP. It supports numerous
input and output options and formats, makes use of multi-processor setups, handles HD, and supports
Dolby Digital 5.1. And did I mention it was intuitive?

Recommended!

Summary: attention from pinacle
Comment: The program is OK, but the Pinnacle help for the users too complicated... The program does not work
so well in the XP environment.
