Summary: Not Compatable With Windows 7!
Comment: What good is this crappy software, it's not even compatible with my
new system, which of course has Windows 7 installed! This software cost me $80
at a local retailer about a year ago.
Roxio always seems to come up with issues and compatibly problems every time
they release a new version of their burning software, this will be the last copy of
their buggy burning software that I will buy. Period!

Summary: Bad idea
Comment: I bought this new at a local store and have never been able to use it. I have Windows Vista and a new computer and i have never been able to get it to work. I paid more than the price on Amazon and wish I would have read more reviews before buying it. I have tried everything suggested by the tech support online and it still doesn't work. I will never by Roxio software again. It is a total waste of money and time.

Summary: No compatibility patch
Comment: I wanted to pass this information along for anyone interested. I've been using Roxio since "Easy CD Creator 5" in 2003 and have been completely satisfied once I learned how to maneuver through the software, which would be the case with any new package. I purchased Roxio Creator 2009 Special Edition in June 2009 for $80. Since I was thinking of getting a new computer I decided to wait and install at a later date. And the Roxio that I was using at the time was working just fine. Got my new computer with Windows 7 and realized after installation of 2009 that it was not compatible. Visited Roxio website to look for a patch or anything available to make the software usable. As this was such a new item I was sure I would find something and problem solved. When I was unable to find anything I email Roxio and asked for help. I will have to give them a little credit for their prompt responses to emails. Within 12 hours they informed me there is no patch or anything that will make 2009 work with Windows7 - it is not compatible. They informed me the only solution to my problem is to upgrade to Roxio Creator 2010 at a cost of $99.00 less a $20 mail in rebate. Unbelievable. Software that is one year old has to go to the trash.....this is completely ridiculous. I've recommended Roxio to many friends in the past. However, I would not recommend buying 2009 if you have any plans in the near future to upgrade to the Windows 7 operating system. I am giving Roxio 1 star for no other reason than they respond very quickly to questions.

Summary: Can't get it to work for me.
Comment: I recently purchased the Roxio Creator 2009. I have downloaded this product 3 times now. I can not get it to work right. I contacted Roxio about this situation and have as yet not received a resolution to my problem. Now my program will not work at all. I puchased this product because it has all the content I want in a burner program, some of the programs worked and others won't. The Express Labeler which copies the content from the disk itself would not work either. This was one of the things promised that led to my buying this product in the first place.

Summary: So Far So Good - EMC 10
Comment: After using Easy Media Creator 7.5 on Windows XP for years, had to upgrade with purchase of new 64 bit computer w/ Vista. Read alot of the mostly negative/scary reviews for the current Roxio products (and the equally scary reviews for Nero) and decided to go with the less than current Roxio EMC 10 [under the theory that fewer bells & whistle options that I would not use would make for a "simpler" product with less chance of screwing up.]

I found NO problems with loading this up [after starting the setting up process by answering a couple of questions, just walk away from your computer for 20 minutes. When I came back, it was loaded and ready to go!] I have so far only used EMC 10 for music functions, so I can't comment on video/DVD performance. I have loaded up some LP and cassette music, cleaned, edited, modified and burned results to CD. Have also successfully loaded, edited and burned music that I transfered from my old computer that was saved by EMC 7.5 (under WAV format). Everything has gone smoothly. The only glitches so far is that in Sound Editor, you can start using it and during the first 45 seconds it will bomb out (you get a Windows problem message that "asks" you to close the function.) Then, I just click it back on and it works fine. In the 50 man hours I've been using this, I've lost maybe 4 minutes.

Being someone who is old enough to remember copying LP's to cassettes, what this software allows you to do is amazing. I believe that the software must be complicated, and that little glitches are currently part of the deal. Hope this review was helpful.
