The files I upload to my computer are much smaller in size than the same length of video from my standard DV camcorder. The video quality is better than my Sony Hi8 from 10 years ago, which I spent $1000 on at the time. The audio is ok, could use a little work there, but for what my son does it's perfect. He loves it, and I think it's one of the best presents for the price. I also love Amazon, because everything comes on time, and the price was the best I could find.
